About Me

Hi,

I'm Edwin Baker from London, England.

Last year I completed 20,000 sng poker tournaments, mostly turbo & super turbo's, hence the blog "SNG Addict".

The nickname "Turbo Teddy" is a reference to "Ed" & "Speed.

Some company called "Ted Baker", a ned culture clothing range, trademarked my name. I'm not sure how that works but they can keep, I'll stick with "Turbo Teddy".

"Turbo Teddy" is mascot at my  turbo poker strategy website.

Between blog & website I'm hoping to improve poker & writing skills.

There's been much talk about poker regulation.

Self nominated tax collectors, as far as I'm concerned, nothing more, nothing less. Their shills come in the form of Advocacy groups. It's happening across all business verticals.

It was vigilant players who "policed" the disgraced Absolute Poker & UltimateBet. What happened to regulators then?

I conclude players need poker regulation as much as they need corrupt corporate politicians.  It will happen because of how our western society operates. Advocacy groups will probably do the "nut kicking" branded in their own glory.

I play poker for fun. I don't see it as gambling as I've never had a losing year online but somebody must be gambling at poker.

To answer the age old question, "is poker gambling?" I confirm the answer is yes and no.

If im sitting at a heads-up poker table with phil ivey or Doyle Brunson, I'm gambling and probably better off buying Tumbola tickets at my local scout hall jumble sale.

When I plan a 500 SNG week, I consider it time investment. No matter what happens, im unlikely to be behind after 500 games.

I may go through a bad patch, make adjustments accordingly and move on but I'm not gambling. It's a different story from sucker who defrauded his work to cover $100,000 poker losses.

Gambling causes a lot of grief in many families. Current politicians gambled & lost our childrens future, poker can have the same effect if you're a "Gambling poker player".

If you recognize problems within yourself, stay away from all forms of gambling. I've seen the damage it causes. A bad move for anyone who cannot control their urges to bet.

Poker is a paid hobby to me. I know my bankroll would evaporate if I moved up to higher stakes, so I don't do it, EVER.

Maybe, in the near future, an outbreak of poker bots will appear, play too good for me, taking my cash. When that starts happening I'll quit online poker for good and get back to social live games. It hasn't happened but I'm keeping my eyes & options open.

Currently I play on Bet365, on the iPoker Network. I added a quick Bet365 Poker Review to my website. Just basic info really. The site for me is a "no brainer", I enjoy my weekend sports betting, Bet365 offer great odds.

Bet365 poker software is decent enough for multi-table play. They're a highly respected and stable bookie brand in UK.  They'll be around when others fold. I assume money is held safely.
